Artist: LCD Soundsystem Date Released: January 21, 2005 Label: DFA/EMI Produced By: James Murphy Tracklisting: Disc 1 Daft Punk is Playing at My House Too Much Love Tribulations Movement Never as Tired as When I'm Waking Up On Repeat Thrills Disco Infiltrator Great Release Disc 2 Losing My Edge. Put on the ropes to produce his first full-length by the very people who had initially knighted him, Murphy finally delivered the album the indie world had been waiting for. What a doozy it was, too: LCD Soundsystem was one of the highlights of the year and a hotly debated product that had critics begging for more singles and fans begging for more everything.

LCD Soundsystem keeps the innovative style of their succeeded "Losing my edge/Beat connection" EP including smashing lyrics, but now it sounds more electronic, mixing funky guitars with crazy acid synth lines. If you liked the previous release this is a must have for you. Reply Notify me 1 Helpful. The crass version of "Yeah" is just an absolute scorcher of raw analog synths and those trademark LCD disco rhythms. It starts harmlessly enough but by the end you're wishing the volume knobs went to 11 as the acid starts to melt your brain starting with the ears.

Album · 2005 · 16 Songs. Bringing the New York underground overground, the bristling fizz of Thrills and Movement are dispatches from some dingy club full of beautiful people, but Murphy also forges his own inimitable pop sensibility from his love of his source material and his 30-something ennui. Daft Punk Is Playing at My House is a loving sneer, and the bubbling Disco Infiltrator feels like a champagne bath to clean away the city’s grime. LCD Soundsystem LCD Soundsystem.

If LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy were the least bit open to the concept, he could be the fraternity's advisor. Judging from a handful of singles and this album, he'd be more than qualified. His first A-side, 2002's "Losing My Edge," laid all his cards on the table, name-checking nearly everything that has been branded indispensable by a record store clerk during the past 20 years. This is someone who clearly owns tons of records and cannot escape them when making his own music. Nothing here exceeds the brilliance of "Beat Connection" or "Yeah. Like just about everybody else these days, Murphy's more skilled at creating isolated tracks than making full-lengths, even though this particular full-length has few weak spots and unfolds smoothly as you listen to it from beginning to end.
