It claims to be from a Swiss radio broadcast of a 1964 concert in Zurich, but it appears to be the original source recording for a radio broadcast-derived recording that has been swapped for years among Brubeck collectors as a 28 September 1963 broadcast by SRG Radio (the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation) from the Casino-Konzerhalle in Basel, Switzerland. This live Zurich CD sounds as good as any Brubeck studio CD. The 1963 Radio Recordings CD which sounds like an old bootleg is mostly unlistenable due to tape hiss, stutter, squeal and overall hollowness of the sound.
Swiss Radio Days is a collectable series for connoisseurs and those newly introduced to this important period of jazz history. TCB Records was founded by drummer Peter Schmidlin who passed away in 2015.
With the dynamic, swirling sounds of his Hammond B-3 organ, Wild Bill Davis provided a bridge from the big band swing of the 1930s and '40s to the organ-driven R&B of the 1950s and early '60s. Togethe. ead Full Biography. Overview . Biography . Discography . Songs .
