Will Dobson Wyman missed quite a few tracks on Exile with Richards, Taylor, and Bill Plummer playing bass. Richards and Wood play quite a bit of bass on post 75 stuff. Wood is a great bass player and played on The track Emotional Rescue and Pretty Bear Up as examples.
Metamorphosis is the third compilation album of The Rolling Stones music released by former manager Allen Klein's ABKCO Records (who usurped control of the band's Decca/London material in 1970) after the band's departure from Decca and Klein. Released in 1975, Metamorphosis centres on outtakes and alternate versions of well-known songs recorded from 1964 to 1970.
I came to terms with Exile when raised by a friend what I thought the five all-time greatest Stones songs were - songs that will only live 50 years from now. My response was pretty quick - Satisfaction. Give Me Shelter, You Can't Always have what you Want, Wild Horses, and Sympathy for the Devil. But I realized immediately none were from Exile, which I consider to be the Stones' all-time best album. Yes, Tumbling Dice and Happy are up there, and some cuts on Exile are, IMHO,.
