Kevin Max (born August 17, 1967) is an American singer, songwriter, and poet. He is best known for being a member of the Christian pop group dc Talk. As a solo artist following the band going on hiatus, he has recorded nine full-length studio albums, one Christmas album, and eight EPs. From 2012 until 2014, he was the lead singer of the band Audio Adrenaline.
The course of Kevin Max’s post-dc Talk career has been a fascinating zigzag, taking him through a myriad of pop styles, and The Blood finds Max once again defying expectations. The album uses old hymns as a thematic touchstone, though these tracks range far beyond the traditional. Helping out are a bevy of notables, including Amy Grant, Ashley Cleveland, Mary Mary’s Erica Campbell and Joanne Cash (Johnny’s sister). Ultimately, though, Max is the main attraction, and he tackles the tunes with varying success

Kevin Max has achieved the mark of a true artist on this album, in my opinion, by so successfully and convincingly displaying his range of style and ability on a selection of songs that are as different in style as they are similar in message. While only one of the tracks on The Blood is an original, I believe that the message of The Blood is what validates the authenticity Kevin Max as a person and an artist and is what, inevitably, carried over to shape an authentic collection of recordings that can be appreciated by the masses and needs to be heard everyone.

The Blood is an album by Christian music artist Kevin Max that was released December 26, 2007. Unlike Max's previous albums (both solo and as part of dc Talk), The Blood is a gospel album instead of having his usual rock stylings. He also explains a bit more on the style, stating, "The Blood is not a classic hymns cover project or a white/homogenized version of black gospel or soul music, it's a sensitive and stylized adaptation of the music that was at the root of rock.
