The Red Chord's genre-defining (if not genre-creating) debut, "Fused Together in Revolving Doors" is a milestone. Then again, this album isn't really true deathcore. It's a fusion album, seamlessly blending elements of death metal, grindcore, hardcore (through the usage of GOOD breakdowns), jazz, and even a few thrashy sections that are complemented by death vocals. This type of quick-change mentality sticks for pretty much the whole album, so if you're the type of listener who absolutely needs a solid horus structure to understand and enjoy the music, stay away. I'm not saying I have a problem with that style, just that this isn't it. I also love the vast musical influences this band takes on.

A new version of Last. Fused Together in Revolving Doors. Overview (current section).
The instruments blend extremely well together. The guitars retain a steady constant sound. Lead riffs and licks are rare in some songs but blatantly obvious in others - occasionally you may spot some but ultimately they stick with downtuned brutal riffs in some songs, but if you're paying attention you'll notice other articulation. But redundant rage and confusion is not the only emotion displayed in this album. The death metal highlight Sixteen Bit Fingerprint is one of the most impressive songs I've heard in the genre period. Brutal heaviness is complimented with slower sections. There are many flowing melodic riffs present giving a saddening sound - one which I have grown to appreciate.
