Never Let Go" is the first single released by the progressive rock band, Camel in November 1972. The B-side of the single is the Peter Bardens song "Curiosity". It is from their debut album Camel (1973), and is considered their most memorable and well-known song. In addition to the single version (which is shortened from the album version), the band has recorded versions of the song for three different live albums, and it was featured on a compilation.

Never Let Go confirms the point that Camel has plenty of life left in it. Spread out across two discs (the untangling of which is like disassembling a child's toy, a problem common to two-disc sets), this live show features two distinct sets. It starts out deceptively simple, with Andrew Latimer strumming a slow version of "Never Let Go," which soon explodes into a spot-on rendition.
But, you never let go and sometimes it feels like you never will. He’s like a poison in your veins that never seems to get better. He is the guy you can’t let go. You want to, you need to, but letting go of him is like letting go the best piece of your life, the love that you will never forget. Your thoughts circle and you imagine life without wanting him anymore, a life you haven’t lived in so long. A part of you knows you would feel relieved to let go, but another part of you feels like you would be giving up on the love you know deep down you want so much. It’s not easy to decide to let him go and promise yourself to not go back. It is actually one of the more difficult things you may have to do. But, once you heal and see things from an outside perspective you will be proud of yourself and your strength in your decision.
Let him go not because you weren’t enough but because he should have never made you feel that way. Let him go not because you don’t like talking to him but because you deserve someone who starts the conversation. Let him go not because you want to but because sometimes the people you want most are the ones you are best without. Let him go not because he didn’t make you happy but because he made you sad so often. Let him go not because he won’t commit to you but because he’s the one who doesn’t deserve your loyalty
